Guitar Duo “ Artistic”
Guitar Duo “Artistic” was formed in 2010, in Vienna. Bozhana Pavlova and Aleksandar Visokomogilski are two promising young musicians living in the capital of Austria. In their one-of-a-kind interpretations they unite classical, Latin and jazz music in an unique and elegant way. The fine mixture of pieces, original arrangements and improvisation creates the distinct atmosphere of their sound. Their style and interpretation of music is inspired by classical music, modern jazz, South American rhythms, such as samba and bossa nova.
Bozhana Pavlova
Bozhana Pavlova was born in Pleven, Bulgaria. From 2003 to 2008 she studied guitar at the National Music School "Ljubomir Pipkov" in Sofia with Prof. Stolina Dobreva. After that she became a student at Conservatory Vienna Private University in the class of Prof. Jorgos Panetsos. In 2012 she began her Master's degree in classical guitar. In addition, Bozhana is studying pedagogics for guitar at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna with Prof. Walter Würdinger.
Bozhana is a laureate of a number of guitar competitions in Italy, Croatia, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Montenegro and Germany. In 2013 she won lots of prizes at International Guitar Competitions: 1nd Prize at the international competition “Giovani Musicisti - Città di Treviso”, Italy for classical guitar and 3rd Prize in the category for Contemporary music, 2nd Prize at Omis Guitar Fest 2013, 3rd Prize at International Guitar Competition, Tirana 2013 and 3rd Prize at International Guitar Competition, Niksic 2013. In 2012 she won a special prize "Fernando Sor" for best interpretation of a classical piece in Erwitte, Germany. In the same year she was a finalist at Forum Gitarre Wien. In 2011 she won the first prize at the international competition "Young Virtuosos" in Sofia, Bulgaria.
In addition, Bozhana received a grant for high artistic achievements from the Ministery of Culture of Bulgaria and in 2011 and 2013 grants for best results from Conservatory Vienna Private University, in 2012 she won a Supporting grant from the University for Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. She attended masterclasses of Carlo Marchione, Marcin Dylla, Olaf Van Gonnissen, Ivo Kaltchev, Dale Kavanagh, George Vassilev, Hopkinson Smith, Gerhard Reichenbach and many others.
Aleksandar Visokomogilski
Aleksandar Visokomogilski was born in 1987, in Sofia. He took his first guitar lessons from the Bulgarian guitarist Ekaterina Vaseva. After graduating high-school he studied guitar at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" with Prof. Panayot Panayotov. In 2007 he began his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the BA program for pop and jazz guitar. He was in the guitar classes of Peter Legat (electric guitar) and Martin Kelner (acoustic guitar). Aleksandar finished his Bachelor's degree with excellence and in 2012 he began his Master's degree in pop and electric guitar in Vienna. Now he is in the classes of Wolfgang Pointner (electric guitar) and Arnoldo Moreno (acoustic guitar).
Aleksandar is also a laureat of a number of guitar competitions, such as Omis Guitar Fest 2013, Croatia – 3rd Prize in the category for electric guitar; International Guitar Competition "Marin Goleminov" in Kjustendil, Bulgaria and "On the wings of music" (acoustic guitar) in Sofia, Bulagria. In 2013 he took part in lots of concerts and festivals: ´1st Classical Music Hack Day´ 2013 and und ‚I See The Lord’ in Vienna, ´TALLERS MUSICALS D'AVINYÓ´ Festival 2013 in Spain and the ´UNESCO International Jazz Day´, held in the renowned Porgy & Bess Jazz & Music Club in Vienna.
Aleksandar has participated in master classes of Nelson Faria, Milcho Leviev, Oz Noy and others. In his musical career he has played at concerts with different bands in Bulgaria, Austria, Germany and Spain. In 2011 Aleksandar was rewarded a grant for highly talented young musicians from the Sylff program of the Tokyo Foundation.
