During their tour through China, the Stuttgarter Kantorei will focus on the performance of the masterpiece „Carmina Burana“. It is probably the biggest and most famous creation by Carl Orff and for sure one of the most important compostions of the 20th century. For realizing the version with a choir, several drums and two pianos, there will be a cooperation among Chinese and German musicians.
German-Chinese Cooperation in the Music Area
The Chinese artists are all professional musicians and enjoyed an excellent education in China and Germany. Besides, some of them teach as professors in the Beijing Conservatory of Music.
Pedagogic / Educational Purpose
The concerts that take place in China should provide an educational basis. Therefore, several parts of the composition will be introduced through a Preface-Concert, afterwards the audience can listen to the entire concert.
