The 34th World Conference for the International Society for Music Education is in Helsinki, Finland from August 2–7, 2020. ISME is delighted to be working with Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki. The ISME 2020 World Conference aims to foster global understanding and cooperation by strengthening ties and sharing ideas that promote music education as a culturally responsive, inclusive, and life-long transformative journey. Given the current global reality, the conference theme Visions of Equity and Diversity is a timely reminder of music’s power to unite our humanity while respecting our differences. The conference theme encourages opportunities for dialogue and international collaborations that are thought-provoking and innovative, and that place equity and diversity at the heart of music education scholarship and practices world-wide.
